Indian discount brokerage platform Upstox has launched US stock investing, allowing domestic retail users to trade over 8,000 US-listed equities and 2,000 exchange-traded funds. The platform supports fractional investing starting at $1, enabling access to high-value global technology shares including Apple, Alphabet, Amazon, and Tesla. Users can fund their accounts directly in Indian rupees, which convert automatically into US dollars under the Reserve Bank of India’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme. Co-founder and CEO Ravi Kumar highlighted that the launch expands Upstox’s ecosystem beyond Indian equities, mutual funds, and initial public offerings into global markets.
