The board of listed home services major Urban Company has approved a proposal to raise up to ₹2,500 crore to bolster its balance sheet. The fundraise comes amid intense competition in its instant home services arm, InstaHelp, from rivals Snabbit and Pronto. For Q2 FY27, Urban Company reported consolidated revenue from operations up 41.4% year-on-year to ₹537.3 crore, while its consolidated net loss widened to ₹182.5 crore due to heavy spending on InstaHelp. The company is also planning to expand its Native brand into the residential air conditioner market while maintaining its core service profitability.
