The board of Urban Company has approved a proposal to raise up to Rs 2,500 crore via equity shares and convertible securities, including a qualified institutional placement, private placement, or preferential allotment. The fundraise requires shareholder and regulatory approvals. The fresh capital will support scaling its InstaHelp vertical and defending market share against emerging rivals such as Snabbit and Pronto. For Q2 FY27, Urban Company's revenue grew 41% year-on-year to Rs 527 crore, while net loss widened to Rs 182.5 crore, driven by elevated marketing and expansion expenses in quick home services.
