Urban Company’s board will meet on October 16 to consider raising fresh capital via equity shares or convertible securities, less than a year after its IPO. Despite holding ₹2,019 crore in cash and treasury investments and ₹310.8 crore in unutilised fresh issue proceeds at the end of June, the company seeks new funds. The capital requirement is driven by its instant services arm, InstaHelp, which faces rising competition from Snabbit and Pronto. InstaHelp posted an adjusted EBITDA loss of ₹132 crore in Q1 FY27 and is projected to remain unprofitable until FY31.
