US-based crypto platform Circle Internet Group has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Singapore-based cross-border payments startup Tazapay in an all-stock deal reportedly valued at nearly $400 million. Founded in 2020 by Rahul Shinghal, Aayush Singhania, and Kanupriya Sharda, Peak XV-backed Tazapay offers APIs for enterprise global payments and processes over $25 billion in annualized volume. Circle, the issuer of the USDC stablecoin, aims to merge Tazapay's local banking rails across 100+ markets with its digital currency infrastructure to accelerate worldwide USDC adoption. The transaction is expected to close in 2027.
