Vikram Solar to Begin TOPCon Cell Production in Tamil Nadu

Indian solar PV manufacturer Vikram Solar has announced that its 9-GW N-type TOPCon solar cell manufacturing facility at SIPCOT Industrial Park in Gangaikondan, Tamil Nadu, is scheduled to commence production in December 2026. Designed as one of India's largest single-site solar cell facilities, the plant is co-located with Vikram Solar’s existing module facility. The expansion marks the company’s strategic transition from a module maker into an integrated solar manufacturer, with future plans to expand into wafer manufacturing to advance India's domestic renewable energy supply chain and manufacturing self-reliance.
