Zomato has implemented a zero-tolerance policy prohibiting the sale of dishes containing analogue dairy products across its food delivery platform. Dishes declared by restaurant partners to contain synthetic or imitation dairy substitutes, such as analogue paneer made using vegetable oils and starches instead of milk, have been delisted immediately. CEO Aditya Mangla stated that restaurants must either switch to natural dairy ingredients or remove such items from their menus to avoid complete platform delisting. The policy aims to improve food transparency, safeguard consumer health, and ensure accurate menu labeling amidst growing scrutiny over dairy authenticity.
