Zomato lays off 240 employees, shuts Hyderabad customer support hub

Eternal-owned food delivery giant Zomato has laid off approximately 240 customer support employees as it shuts down operations in Hyderabad. Over the past six months, the company has transitioned a larger share of customer support functions to specialized external partners while consolidating remaining in-house teams at its Gurugram headquarters. Affected staff will receive August salaries along with four months of pay as severance, extended medical insurance through March 2027, retention of company laptops, and outplacement support. Zomato clarified that the restructuring is strictly limited to the Hyderabad customer support unit.
