Rental car platform Zoomcar reported a 28% year-on-year increase in its net loss to $5.4 million for the first quarter ended June 30, 2026, up from $4.2 million last year. Net revenue remained flat at $2.4 million as gross booking value fell 10% to $5.8 million. Zoomcar attributed the lower booking volume to a strategic shift targeting longer, higher-value trips rather than volume. Despite widening bottom-line losses driven by higher finance and non-operating costs, adjusted EBITDA loss narrowed by 65% to $611,000, supported by improved gross profit margins following insurance policy updates and loss-prevention measures.
