Fintech Development Boosted GDP Resilience During Covid-19: Report
A study by Nanyang Business School's Centre for Sustainable Finance Innovation in collaboration with Ant Group revealed that nations with stronger fintech ecosystems demonstrated greater economic resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic. Analyzing data across 86 economies worldwide, the report used gross domestic product growth and unemployment rates as key metrics. The findings show that well-developed digital financial infrastructure enabled businesses and consumers to maintain commercial activity, distribute relief funds efficiently, and preserve employment during widespread lockdowns and disruptions.

Taiwan's Gogoro Enters Indian Market in Partnership With Hero MotoCorp
Taiwanese electric scooter and battery-swapping giant Gogoro is set to make its official debut in the Indian market on November 3. The expansion follows a strategic partnership announced with Hero MotoCorp in April to roll out the Gogoro Network battery-swapping infrastructure across India. Gogoro manufactures both low-speed and high-speed electric scooters and plans to introduce a longer-range model specifically tailored for Indian consumers, featuring a 90 km range. The collaboration aims to accelerate EV adoption in India by establishing standard battery-swapping networks for commercial and personal urban mobility.

EV Deeptech Startup Vecmocon Raises $5.2 Million from Tiger Global, Blume
Delhi-based deeptech electric vehicle platform Vecmocon has raised $5.2 million in a funding round led by Tiger Global and Blume Ventures, alongside participation from strategic angel investors. Founded by Adarshkumar B, Peeyush Asati, and Shivam Wankhede, the startup was incubated at IIT Delhi and the Indian School of Business. Vecmocon develops intelligent electric vehicle components, battery management software, and vehicle intelligence systems. Having previously secured $300,000 in early capital, the startup plans to use the new proceeds to accelerate product engineering, expand research capabilities, and power more than 100,000 electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers across India within the next year.
